    Refreshed Mini Clubman unveiled

Mini is giving its Clubman a mid-cycle refresh for the first time since the second-generation model arrived in 2015.

The changes aren’t massive, however, they are there to keep the Clubman modern. The exterior gains a reworked grille that extends the horizontal slats farther down the front end, there is thinner chrome trim around it.

There are new colours, including Indian Summer Red metallic, British Racing Green metallic, and Enigmatic Black metallic.

Like the outgoing model, the new one still boasts halogen headlights as standard but with larger reflectors and a black shield on the inside.

There is optional LED illumination for the high and low beams, including a white ring on the outside. Adaptive LEDs are also available that include automatic high beams and active corner lighting. In the corners of the front fascia, the optional fog lights are now LEDs with circular daytime running lights around the exterior.

At the back, the only major changes are for the taillights. They now have standard LED illumination with a chrome surround. Buyers can also opt for an optional Union Jack appearance for the lamps.

Inside, Mini’s Leather Chester upholstery is available in new Malt Brown, Indigo Blue, and Satellite Grey colours. The standard infotainment display remains 6.5 inches, an 8.8-inch version is available as an option.

The Clubman is available in two engine variants, a three-cylinder and a four-cylinder petrol engine, each of which features the latest generation of MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology.

The three-cylinder engine churns out 100 kW of power and that enables the Clubman to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds onto a top speed of 205 km/h.  The Mini Clubman makes 141 kW of power good for 7.2 seconds from 0 – 100 km/h before hitting top speed at 228 km/h. A seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is standard on the MINI Cooper Clubman and the MINI Cooper S Clubman.

At a later stage, the model programme will be extended to include the new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman. The top athlete of the series is fitted as standard with the all-wheel-drive system ALL4.
