I’m not one for glitz and glamor or in your face type cars. I’m that boring guy who prefers an S5 over the RS5, a 440i over an M4, etc. The simple reason why it’s the models just before the flagship I chose as an illustration – is because no one wants a boring car. The level of excitement and style aggression is always a subjective one – and one that I think Nissan, despite its naming convention of calling this a Stealth– nailed it bang on the money when it comes to the level of spice added to the aesthetics.

    Specifications galore

The question to be answered, is whether the style cues are enough of an update? When you consider that there’s only a R13k hike in the asking price – the answer is a simple yes. Every bit of chrome in the exterior has been replaced with black accents and Stealth stickers to make it stand out from the normal LE derivatives. The interior also gets orange stitching around the steering and the seats. The full leather is now half leather with the other half being black and orange cloth fabric.

    Engine and drive

Despite this being all that is new with the Navara Stealth, there’s still a lot to be desired here. It remains one of the more frugal bakkie’s out there as we still managed to get an average of 8l/100km and slightly below at times without trying too hard. The reverse (& side) camera, heated seats, great ride quality and refinement also add to the desirability of the Stealth. Still a very capable all round package that doesn’t leave you wanting more.

    Pricing

Pricing starts at R582,200 for the LE range and comes with a 3 year/60,000km service plan and a 6 year/150,000km warranty. Our previous full review can be accessed here: https://khulekanionwheels.com/2018/12/18/the-nonconfirmist-nissan-navara-is-impressive/
