Suzuki Auto South Africa recently announced the appointment of two new recruits to bolster its public relations and digital marketing team, namely Eileen Gengan and Anton Willemse.

Eileen Gengan joins Suzuki from Publicis, where she was part of their eventing and PR division. She will look after Public Relations and Events as the newly appointed Assistant Manager in this division. Eileen has 14 years’ experience in the field of national and international conferencing and event planning. She also handled the public relations for several South African and international organisations during that time.

Says Eileen: “I’m so excited to join Suzuki Auto South Africa and to explore new trends, strategies and technologies. I also look forward to meeting all the journalists and friends of Suzuki who have built up a relationship with this great brand over the past couple of years.”

Joining Eileen in the fast-growing marketing and public relations team is Anton Willemse, a well-known member of the motoring journalist fraternity. Anton will look after digital and dealer marketing at Suzuki Auto as the newly appointed Co-ordinator in this division. Prior to joining Suzuki Auto, Anton was a writer for Avontuur / Adventure Afrika, where he also managed the publication’s digital platforms. Anton is a keen off-road and overland enthusiast.

Says Megan MacDonald, Head of Marketing and Public Relations: “Suzuki has grown to one of South Africa’s three best-selling vehicle brands, thanks in no small part to the support we receive from our colleagues in the media and from our dealer network. We cherish these relationships and believe that Eileen and Anton will be of great help!”
