Suzuki Auto SA drops pricing for new Fronx

Suzuki has been giving the people gems lately. Not so long they launched the new Grand Vitara and has now launched their all-new Fronx for our market. The Suzuki Fronx is a crossover SUV based on the Baleno and comes in four derivatives.

    Looks

The Fronx features a fusion of Suzuki’s recognizable SUV design elements, including the grille initially introduced on the Grand Vitara, along with entirely novel design components. These new features comprise a sweeping roofline, pronounced wheel arches that combine textured metal with black polycarbonate wheel arch extensions, dual-layer front lights with a follow-me-home function, generously-sized alloy wheels, and LED tail lamps. In the case of the GLX model, the LED tail lamps are connected through a luminous LED light bar that stretches along the length of the vehicle.

All models are equipped with 16” alloy wheels (silver for the GLX), roof rails (silver for GLX iterations), a rear roof-mounted spoiler with a shark fin antenna, and high-mounted daytime running lights. All models are also furnished with colour-coordinated side mirrors that incorporate built-in indicators (black mirrors for dual-colour models).

For the Fronx GLX editions, a chrome-plated trim lines the side windows, while all iterations – in a final homage to the Suzuki SUV line-up – showcase silver front, side, and rear skid plate garnishes.

    Interior

The entire line-up comes equipped with front and rear electric windows, automatic climate control featuring rear-seat ventilation, central locking, electric power steering, two USB ports at the rear, and a central console box that serves as both an armrest and a storage compartment.

The range-topping GLX models Suzuki gets keyless entry with push-button start, wireless charging integrated, and a head-up display. Additionally, the GLX version benefits from an upgraded infotainment system. While the GL model is equipped with a 7” infotainment system the GLX model boasts a larger 9” infotainment system which supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GLX model also benefits from a 350-degree camera.

    Power

The entire range is powered by one engine which is a 1.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 77 kW and 138 Nm. Both the GLX and GLX models have an option between a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic.

    Safety

Across the range, the Fronx comes standard with two airbags, ESP (electronic stability programme), hill hold control (HHC), ABS brakes with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and ISOFIX child seat anchors on both sides of the rear bench seat. In the GLX, Suzuki has added both front side airbags and side curtain airbags as bringing the total amount of airbags to six.

    Pricing

    Suzuki Fronx 1.5 GL Manual – R279,900

    Suzuki Fronx 1.5 GL Auto – R299,900

    Suzuki Fronx 1.5 GLX Manual – R315,900

    Suzuki Fronx 1.5 GLX Auto – R335,900

The Suzuki Fronx is offered with a 5-year/200 000 km promotional mechanical warranty and a 4-year/60 000 km service plan. A comprehensive 5-year roadside assistance plan and a 6-year unlimited kilometre anti-corrosion warranty are also part of the purchase price.
