Are you looking for a ‘green’ convertible, something that will enjoyable to drive but also won’t hurt nature in the process? Look no further as Maserati has taken the covers off their latest creation, the all-electric GranCabrio Folgore. In terms of design, its similar to its coupe sibling the GranTurismo. The GranCabrio Folgore is available in 5 colours for the soft top and six body colours namely: Grigio Incognito, Verde Giada, Nero Assoluto, Blu Modena, Bianco Astro and Grigio Maratea Matte.

Highlights in the interior include a fully digital cockpit, comprising a 12.3-inch central display, a 12.2-inch digital dashboard, an 8.8-inch comfort display, and a customizable head-up display (HUD). Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard features. It also features a Sonus faber audio system with 13 speakers as standard, and upgradeable to 16 speakers with 3D surround sound.

The GranCabrio Folgore comes with three electric motors, one on the front axle and two at the rear. Each has the capacity to handle up to 300 kilowatts of power, resulting in a theoretical maximum output of 900kW. Because of constraints posed by the battery, the combined output is capped at 560kW, though this remains a substantial amount of power.

The 0 – 100 km/h sprint is achieved in a blistering 2.8 seconds, and will go on to do a claimed 290 km/h. On paper, this makes the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore the fastest electric convertible in the world. Thanks to a 92.5kWh battery pack (83kWh), it has a claimed range of 447km on the European WLTP cycle.

Maserati SA is yet to share details on whether our market is receiving the GranCabrio Folgore or not.
