Mazda refreshes CX-3 Active Auto for 2026

Mazda has refreshed its CX-3 Active Auto, keeping it relevant in the competitive compact crossover segment.

In terms of styling, not much has changed. The CX-3 retains its familiar KODO design language, with the same sculpted body lines and compact crossover proportions buyers already know.

Inside, the focus is on simplicity and usability. The updated Active Auto features Mazda’s MZD Connect infotainment system, displayed on an 8-inch colour screen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included, along with a six-speaker sound system. The Commander Dial remains in place, offering a more traditional way to navigate menus without relying solely on touch inputs.

Power comes from a 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G petrol engine producing 115 kW and 206 Nm. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The setup prioritises smooth and predictable performance rather than outright sportiness. Mazda’s i-Stop idle stop/start system helps improve fuel efficiency, while safety features such as Dynamic Stability Control, cruise control and Hill Launch Assist are included as standard.

The cabin carries a familiar Mazda layout, with quality finishes and a leather-wrapped steering wheel adding a touch of refinement. While it remains a compact crossover, it continues to appeal to drivers looking for a balance between style, practicality and manageable running costs.

The CX-3 Active Auto is backed by a 3-year service plan, 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty and 5-year roadside assistance.
