Audi South Africa has added a new derivative to its compact line-up with the introduction of the Audi A3 Sportback TFSI 110kW S line, priced from R769,000. The new model sits below the existing S line Plus and S line Black variants, creating a more accessible entry point into the A3 Sportback range.

The addition also brings a clearer trim structure to the local A3 range, which now consists of S line, S line Plus and S line Black models.

According to Audi South Africa, the new derivative forms part of an effort to broaden the appeal of the A3 range while maintaining the design and equipment expected from the S line package.

The A3 Sportback S line, available only in hatchback form, comes with a range of standard features including 18-inch alloy wheels, sport seats with cloth upholstery, LED headlights, ambient interior lighting, a panoramic sunroof and a six-speaker sound system. Convenience features such as folding exterior mirrors, an auto-dimming interior mirror and lumbar support are also included.

Above it in the line-up sits the S line Plus, priced from R808,200 for the Sportback and R823,200 for the Sedan. This model adds features such as the S line interior package, artificial leather and cloth upholstery, full LED headlights, a flat-bottom steering wheel and a SONOS premium sound system.

At the top of the range is the S line Black, priced from R834,500 for the Sportback and R849,500 for the Sedan. This variant introduces darker styling elements, including black 18-inch wheels, the black styling package and privacy glass.

The Audi A3 range, which was updated locally in 2025, remains an important part of the brand’s compact offering. It combines Audi’s familiar design approach with digital displays and everyday practicality in a smaller premium package.

As with other models in the Audi line-up, the A3 range is sold with a 5-year/100,000 km Audi Freeway Plan, covering service and maintenance.
