Mercedes-Benz has updated its flagship SUV, the GLS, with revisions focused on design, technology and powertrain enhancements.

The latest GLS retains its position at the top of the brand’s SUV range, now incorporating updated exterior elements and an expanded digital experience inside the cabin.

Externally, the GLS features a revised grille design with additional chrome detailing, along with updated lighting signatures. The front and rear lighting elements have been refined, and the upright Mercedes-Benz star on the bonnet remains a distinguishing feature.

Inside, the GLS introduces the MBUX Superscreen as standard. This system integrates multiple displays under a single glass surface across the dashboard, combining the driver display, central infotainment screen and passenger display. The system supports updated software and connectivity features.

The GLS continues to offer a seven-seat configuration, with electrically adjustable seats across all three rows. Second-row occupants benefit from additional comfort features, including available massage functions and enhanced climate control options.

Under the bonnet, the GLS line-up includes a range of six-cylinder and V8 engines, all supported by mild-hybrid technology. The GLS 450 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine producing approximately 280kW and 500Nm. The GLS 580 features a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine delivering around 380kW and 730Nm. Performance derivatives, such as the AMG GLS 63, produce approximately 450kW and 850Nm.

The GLS is equipped with an air suspension system, supported by updated damping control technology designed to respond to varying road conditions.

The updated model also incorporates the latest Mercedes-Benz operating system, enabling over-the-air updates and expanded functionality for driver assistance systems. These systems utilise a combination of cameras, radar and sensors to support features such as adaptive cruise control and parking assistance.

The updated GLS continues as a full-size luxury SUV offering a combination of updated design, revised technology and an expanded engine line-up.
