A new range of Triton bakkies is set to launch soon, expanding the line-up with a new bi-turbo derivative in the coming months.

The new Mitsubishi Triton Bi-Turbo is equipped with L-shaped LED daytime running lights, three-dimensional triple-light headlights, and T-shaped taillights.

Some of the exterior features of the Bi-Turbo include a three-dimensional front grille, redesigned fenders, and lower protectors. As standard, the bakkie comes with heated door mirrors, roof rails, a styling bar, and an assisted rear tailgate.

The Triton Bi-Turbo is powered by a 2.4-litre 4N16 DI-DC engine that receives a power increase. This motor now produces 150kW at 3,500rpm and 470Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

The GLS line receives blacked-out exterior accents, including new metallic black 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lamp bezels, front and rear bumper garnishes, and black door mirrors. These updates give the Triton GLS a more modern appearance.

We look forward to seeing whether the new Bi-Turbo and updated GLS will be well-rounded additions to the South African bakkie market.
