BMW has revealed the M Concept Neue Klasse at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, offering the clearest indication yet of what future high-performance electric BMW M models could look like.
The concept previews BMW M’s next-generation design language and introduces several technologies expected to influence future production vehicles. It also signals the direction BMW plans to take as it expands its performance portfolio into the electric era.
While unmistakably modern, the concept retains several traditional BMW M design elements. Wide wheel arches, muscular proportions, and a pronounced shoulder line give the vehicle a purposeful stance, while aerodynamic features have been integrated throughout the bodywork.
At the front, the concept adopts a forward-leaning “shark nose” design, with the headlights and kidney grille combined into a single visual unit. BMW has also introduced new yellow lighting elements, inspired by the brand’s GT racing programme and the BMW M Hybrid V8 race car.
Additional aerodynamic enhancements include redesigned M exterior mirrors, a functional bonnet air outlet for cooling the electric drivetrain, and a front splitter integrated into a trimaran-style bumper design.
At the rear, a prominent ducktail spoiler works alongside a large diffuser to improve aerodynamic efficiency and rear-end stability. New three-dimensional “Track Lights” feature at both the front and rear of the vehicle, creating a distinctive lighting signature.

BMW has also incorporated natural fibre materials throughout the concept. These can be seen on components such as the front splitter, bonnet air outlet, diffuser, and roof graphic, highlighting the company’s ongoing focus on lightweight construction.
The concept is finished in a new Monza Red metallic paint colour and rides on centre-lock wheels featuring red and blue accents inspired by BMW M’s motorsport heritage.
Inside, the cabin follows a minimalist, driver-focused layout. Four newly developed bucket seats feature structural elements made from natural fibre materials, while the upholstery combines Bathurst Blue and Berry Red leather finishes.
The dashboard adopts a simplified design, finished in a black knitted material with illuminated hexagonal detailing. BMW has also introduced nubuck leather on key touchpoints, including the steering wheel, door panels, and roll bar.

Underneath the striking bodywork is BMW’s latest electric performance technology. The M Concept Neue Klasse features a new BMW M eDrive system consisting of four electric motors working alongside BMW M Dynamic Performance Control software.
According to BMW, the system allows for wheel-specific management of both power delivery and braking, improving traction, agility, and vehicle control. The technology is managed through BMW’s new “Heart of Joy” high-performance computing system.
The concept is based on BMW’s sixth-generation electric vehicle architecture and features an 800-volt electrical system paired with a battery pack exceeding 100kWh in capacity. BMW says the battery structure is integrated into the vehicle’s chassis, contributing to both rigidity and driving dynamics.
While BMW has not confirmed production details, the M Concept Neue Klasse provides an early look at the design, technology, and performance philosophy that will shape future electric BMW M models.
