Audi has unveiled the fifth-generation A6 allroad, introducing a more rugged design, increased capability, and electrified powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid variant for the first time.
The A6 allroad has long occupied a unique position in Audi’s line-up, offering much of the practicality of an SUV while retaining the driving dynamics and comfort of a traditional wagon. The latest model builds on that formula with a wider body, updated technology, and improved off-road capability.
Compared to the standard A6 Avant, the new A6 allroad is 11cm wider and features unique styling elements designed to emphasise its more adventurous character. Larger wheel arches, allroad-specific bumpers, and alloy wheels measuring up to 21 inches help distinguish it from its road-focused sibling.
Ground clearance has also been increased by 34mm over the A6 Avant. Standard adaptive air suspension allows the ride height to be adjusted depending on driving conditions, with a total adjustment range of 55mm. The system is designed to improve comfort on the road while providing additional capability when driving on gravel roads or rougher terrain.
Audi has also fitted the A6 allroad with all-wheel steering as standard. At lower speeds, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front wheels to improve manoeuvrability, while at higher speeds they turn in the same direction to enhance stability.

Inside, the cabin follows the design direction introduced in Audi’s latest models. The centrepiece is a curved digital display setup that combines an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. Buyers can also specify an additional 10.9-inch passenger display.
The new A6 allroad features Audi’s latest lighting technology, including optional Digital Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED taillights. Drivers can choose from several different lighting signatures, while the lighting systems can also communicate warnings and other information to surrounding road users.
Comfort remains a key focus. Available features include ventilated and massage seats, four-zone climate control, a panoramic glass roof, and enhanced sound insulation. Practicality has not been overlooked either, with flexible rear seating, roof rails, and increased towing capacity on diesel models helping the A6 allroad maintain its reputation as a capable long-distance tourer.
For the first time, Audi will offer the A6 allroad as a plug-in hybrid. The A6 allroad e-hybrid combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor to produce a total of 270kW and 500Nm.

Power is supplied by a 25.9kWh battery pack, allowing for a claimed electric driving range of up to 95km under the WLTP cycle. The battery can be charged at up to 11kW AC, with a full charge taking approximately two and a half hours.
Buyers will also be able to choose a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine producing 220kW and 580Nm. The diesel model incorporates Audi’s MHEV Plus mild-hybrid system, which can contribute an additional 18kW when required to improve efficiency and responsiveness.
As with previous generations, quattro all-wheel drive comes standard across the range.
Audi has confirmed that production of the new A6 allroad will begin in Europe, with further market-specific details expected closer to launch.
