    Mazda South Africa has launched the new CX-5 in South Africa, with the updated SUV priced from R578,250.

    The local range consists of four derivatives, all powered by a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine producing 132 kW and 240 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

    The range starts with the CX-5 2.5L Active, followed by the Dynamic, Individual and flagship Homura A derivatives.

    The new CX-5 receives a redesigned exterior, while the cabin has been updated with revised materials, technology and increased space. A 12.9-inch infotainment display is fitted, with Google built-in also available.

    Depending on the derivative, equipment includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display, Bose sound system and a panoramic sunroof.

    Safety and driver assistance features include blind-spot monitoring and intelligent parking assistance, with the CX-5 also carrying a five-star safety rating.
