Bentley debuted mesmerizing Ombre by Mulliner at Monterey Car Week

Bentley Motors has once again redefined the art of bespoke luxury with the reveal of Ombre by Mulliner, a breathtaking new hand-painted finish that made its debut on a one-off Bentley Continental GT Speed at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during the 2025 Monterey Car Week. This exclusive exterior finish demonstrates one of the most technically complex paint processes ever attempted by the Crewe-based luxury marque.

    Exterior

The highlight of Ombre by Mulliner is its seamless colour transition. Painted entirely by hand at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, the finish carefully blends two distinct paint tones along the body of the car.

On the show car, Bentley’s artisans transitioned from Topaz at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear, creating a flowing fade that follows the muscular rear haunch line. The effect is visually striking, especially under natural light where the ombre reveals different depths and tones.

Even the 22-inch swept 10-spoke wheels mirror this two-tone magic – finished in Topaz at the front and Windsor Blue at the rear for a perfectly harmonious look.

    Craftsmanship

Achieving this gradient effect is no simple task. Each car requires around 56 hours of meticulous painting by two expert technicians. The process begins with contrast colours applied to the front and rear before the bespoke fade is carefully layered in stages. Because each paint shade reacts differently, the technicians must adapt their methods in real-time, ensuring every vehicle achieves the same flawless yet unique finish.

Due to the complexity, Mulliner has curated a select palette of three colour combinations that can be ordered by clients, guaranteeing both exclusivity and perfection.

    Interior

The artistry continues inside with a graded hide design that echoes the exterior transition. The cabin starts with Topaz leather at the front, covering the seats, steering wheel and instrument panel, before flowing towards Beluga black in the rear.

Adding contrast, a Dragonfly accent colour enhances the stitching and piping on seats and doors, while Satin Beluga painted veneers bring a subtle tactile finish across key touchpoints like the centre console and instrument panel.

The cabin is further elevated by Bentley’s signature Rotating Display, the Naim for Bentley premium audio system, and the Dark Chrome Interior Specification, which first appeared on the fourth-gen Continental GT.

    Exclusivity redefined

Ombre by Mulliner is not just a paint finish – it’s a statement of personal expression. Every car painted in this style is inherently unique due to the hand-applied nature of the process, ensuring customers own something truly one-of-a-kind.

Bentley’s bold new finish marks yet another milestone in luxury personalisation, showcasing the brand’s relentless pursuit of craftsmanship, artistry and individuality.
