The new GAC GS3 Emzoom Nova is now the most affordable Emzoom currently available, serving as the entry point into GAC’s compact SUV range.

Chinese automaker GAC Group launched the GS3 Emzoom around 22 months ago, in mid-August 2024, and the model has since become one of the brand’s best-selling vehicles. The sharp and sporty SUV has gained popularity thanks to its punchy engine, which the new Nova also shares.

This compact crossover features GAC’s signature design language, characterised by sharp geometric body lines, sleek LED headlights, a bold front fascia, and a newly designed front grille. Despite being the budget-friendly option in the range, the sporty SUV still offers 17-inch alloy wheels, hidden pop-out door handles, power-adjustable side mirrors, and a range of vibrant exterior colours.

The Nova retains the same turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine found in the higher-spec variants. Paired with a 7-speed dual wet-clutch transmission, the engine produces 130kW and 270Nm, allowing the Nova to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 8.0 seconds. It is a strong engine for a vehicle of this size, delivering confident performance for overtaking and longer-distance driving. GAC claims an average fuel consumption figure of 6.2L/100km.

Inside, the new Nova introduces several convenience features, including smart push-button start, park distance control, and keyless entry. The front cabin is equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with a multifunction steering wheel. The seats are finished in a mix of premium cloth and leatherette upholstery.

In terms of safety, the new Nova comes standard with ISOFIX child-seat mountings and dual front airbags. Braking and stability assistance systems include ABS, electronic stability control, and traction control.

For added peace of mind, the purchase includes a lifetime engine warranty for the first owner, along with a 5-year/150,000km vehicle warranty. A 2-year/30,000km service plan is also included as standard.
