Defender has expanded its line-up with the introduction of the new Defender Vertex, alongside a series of updates that bring fresh styling, new accessories, additional seating options, and an expanded colour palette to the iconic off-roader.

The updates also include a revised engine line-up, new factory-fit accessories, and further customisation options across the Defender range.

    Defender Vertex joins the range

The new Defender Vertex slots into the line-up alongside the X model, bringing a more distinctive look without altering the vehicle’s off-road credentials.

Exterior changes include redesigned front and rear bumpers, a larger front grille, revised fog lamps, and a gloss black rear spoiler. Yellow brake calipers and matching rear recovery eyes provide a visual contrast, while body-coloured lower cladding gives the SUV a more planted appearance.

Vertex rides on new 22-inch alloy wheels as standard, with additional wheel designs available as optional extras. Buyers can also choose from several exterior finishes, including the new Patagonia White Matte Wrap and a self-healing gloss protective film designed to guard against scratches and stone chips.

More ways to personalise your Defender

Beyond the Vertex, Defender has introduced an Extended Exterior Pack, available on selected X-Dynamic and V8 models.

The package adds the revised bumpers, a body-coloured spare wheel cover, a rear spoiler, and a choice of new alloy wheel designs.

The Defender 110 Trophy Edition also receives updates, including a new Santorini Black paint option that joins the existing Deep Sandglow Yellow finish. Expedition-inspired accessories such as the roof rack, raised air intake, roof ladder, and side-mounted gear carrier remain available for buyers planning more adventurous trips.

    Defender OCTA gets new colours

The flagship Defender OCTA now gains a new Woolstone Green exterior finish, joining the existing colour palette.

Defender has also introduced a new Namib Orange paint option across selected Defender 90 and 110 derivatives, inspired by the Namib Desert where the latest Defender made its global debut in 2020.

    Six-seat Defender 110 arrives

One of the biggest functional updates is the introduction of a new 2+2+2 seating layout for the Defender 110.

The second row now features two individual captain’s chairs with armrests, improved bolstering, and additional legroom. The layout also provides easier access to the third row while creating additional storage space between the second-row seats.

    New accessories and technology

Defender has also expanded its range of factory accessories.

New additions include a roof-mounted light pod capable of producing up to 9,000 lumens, a lockable tail door gear carrier with 60 litres of storage, and additional rear spoiler options.

Inside, the latest connected voice assistant allows drivers to interact with the vehicle using natural language through the “Hey Land Rover” command. The AI-powered system can answer questions, assist with navigation, and provide general information while driving.

A new Technology Pack has also been introduced on selected models, adding a head-up display, Meridian Surround Sound System, ClearSight interior rear-view mirror, and a domestic power socket.

    Revised engine line-up

Defender has updated its petrol range with the addition of a new 3.0-litre six-cylinder P380 mild-hybrid engine producing 550Nm of torque.

The new powertrain has been developed to improve fuel efficiency while maintaining the performance expected from the Defender range.

    Pricing

Pricing for the updated Defender range starts at R1,613,000, while the new Defender Vertex is priced from R2,243,700.
