BMW has announced the addition of X5 and X6 M and M Competition models. These models not only set themselves apart with M flavoured interiors and exteriors but also offer insane amounts of power.

    Interior

Inside buyers can look forward to a standard head-up display, M-specific displays in the instrument cluster, M-specific steering, M leather steering with red M1/M2 button and gear shift paddles, M gear selector lever, M multifunction seats with integrated head restraints and M-specific hexagonal quilting. That’s not all, BMW’s Live Cockpit Professional is paired with a 12.3 inch infotainment screen in these X6 M and M Competition models.

    Exterior

Stand out exterior features include M-specific BMW kidney grille with black double bars, three dimensional contouring for front apron, air vents with a track-ready cooling system, M gills in the front side panels, aerodynamically optimized exterior mirrors and an M exhaust, just to name a few.

    Power

Both the X5 M and X6 M employ the same twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that makes 447 kW of power and 750 Nm of porque. This is an increase of 25 kW compared to the outgoing models. The M models will do 0-100 km/h in just 3,8 seconds. The X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition, relying on the same twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine, kick out 460 kW of power and 750 Nm of torque, and will print for 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. This can be hiked to 285 km/h if the M Driver’s package is selected. The engine is paired with eight-speed automatic transmission in both the M and M Competition models.

The X5 and X6 M and M Competition also offer 395-millimeter front disks with fixed six-piston calipers and 380-millimeters rear disks, 21-inch M Sport wheels, an adaptive M suspension setup and with Active Roll Stabilization standard.

Expect these models around May 2020 in Mzansi.
