Mercedes-AMG has confirmed the arrival of the CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ Final Edition in South Africa, with just 15 units allocated to the local market. This limited-run model marks the final chapter for the current-generation CLA 45 S, offering a distinct specification that sets it apart from the standard version.

The CLA 45 S remains one of the most performance-focused compact four-door coupés on sale. Power comes from AMG’s hand-built 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which produces 310 kW and 500 Nm. The engine is assembled at AMG’s Affalterbach facility under the brand’s one man, one engine philosophy. Performance figures include a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 4.1 seconds and a top speed limited to 270 km/h.

Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT dual-clutch transmission and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. Torque is distributed on a wheel-by-wheel basis at the rear axle through AMG Torque Control, allowing for enhanced traction and dynamic driving characteristics.

All South African Final Edition models are finished in Night Black and feature edition-specific exterior detailing. These include large 45 S decals on the doors, yellow AMG logos on the mirror caps, and matte black 19-inch AMG forged wheels. The wheel hub covers feature yellow AMG branding with laurel wreath elements, while the high-performance brake calipers are finished in gloss black with white AMG logos. Additional exterior highlights include black chrome trim elements, AMG Night Package detailing, and a silver chrome AMG fuel filler cap.

Inside, the Final Edition continues the dark theme with contrasting yellow accents. AMG Performance seats are trimmed in a combination of ARTICO man-made leather and MICROCUT microfibre, with yellow stitching across the seats, doors and dashboard. The front headrests feature embroidered 45 S branding, while a Final Edition badge is positioned on the centre console.

The cabin is further enhanced by an AMG Performance steering wheel finished in Nappa leather and MICROCUT microfibre, aluminium trim elements with AMG patterns, illuminated AMG door sills and AMG floor mats with yellow stitching.
