Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the second model from its exclusive Mythos series has entered cold-weather testing, with development currently taking place near the Arctic Circle in Sweden.
Although still fully camouflaged, the new Mercedes-AMG model has been spotted undergoing intensive testing in extreme winter conditions. These cold-weather tests are designed to validate performance, durability and reliability at very low temperatures, ensuring that key systems operate as intended before the vehicle is revealed.

The test programme in Sweden focuses on critical areas such as drivetrain performance, chassis behaviour, traction systems and overall vehicle stability on snow and ice. Conditions near the Arctic Circle allow engineers to push the car under sustained extremes that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
While the prototype shows a clear connection to the Mercedes-Benz CLE range, the new model is expected to sit significantly higher in the performance hierarchy. It is widely expected to feature a V8 powertrain producing more than 400 kW, placing it firmly among Mercedes-AMG’s most powerful road-going models. The design also appears more aggressive and uncompromising than the standard CLE, suggesting a clear focus on performance and exclusivity.

This upcoming vehicle will become the second entry in the Mercedes-Benz Mythos series, a collection of limited-production, collector-focused models. The first Mythos model, the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, debuted as an open-top, roofless and windscreen-free two-seater that showcased a radical interpretation of AMG performance.
Details around the new Mythos model remain limited for now, with a full reveal expected once testing and development have progressed further.
