Audi Sport has revealed a special edition of the RS 3 to celebrate 50 years of the brand’s five-cylinder engine. Known as the RS 3 competition limited, production will be restricted to 750 units worldwide.

Power comes from Audi’s familiar 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine, producing 294 kW and 500 Nm. The compact performance model can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, while top speed is increased to 290 km/h. The distinctive sound of the five-cylinder engine remains one of the car’s defining characteristics.

This special edition also introduces several chassis upgrades, including an adjustable coilover suspension and a stiffer rear stabiliser. These changes are aimed at sharpening the car’s handling while allowing drivers to fine-tune the suspension setup.

Visually, the RS 3 competition limited stands out with additional carbon fibre elements, 19-inch wheels finished in Neodymium gold, and unique lighting details. Buyers can choose from three exterior colours, including an exclusive Malachite Green finish.

Inside, the cabin features RS bucket seats, contrast stitching and a special interior colour scheme. Each car also carries individual numbering on the centre console to highlight the limited production run.

The RS 3 competition limited will be available in both Sportback and Sedan body styles, with deliveries in Europe expected to begin in mid-2026. Audi South Africa has not yet confirmed whether the model will be available locally.
