Omoda SA adds two new derivatives to C5 230T range

Omoda South Africa announced that the recently launched C5 230T will get two more model derivatives which increases the C5 tally to a total of five grades, namely Tech, Elegance, Elegance S, Luxury and Luxury S. The two new grades will slot in between the Tech and Elegance ranges.

    What do you get?

In terms of specifications and styling the new Luxury grade is similar to its Elegance siblings than to the Tech model. Both Luxury models have 18-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 tyres and red brake callipers. These models also have the same stylish roof-mounted spoiler, LED running and brake lights and sunroof as the top of the range model.

These models can be ordered with a dual colour scheme where the roof is in a contrasting colour to the rest of the body. As with the Elegance S model, the Luxury S model receives vibrant red detailing in the front bumper, alloy wheels and roof mounted spoiler. This distinguishes it from the OMODA C5 Luxury model.

Inside, the new Luxury and Luxury S models the cloth seats of the Tech model have been replaced by leather upholstery. Other upgrades from the Tech specification level include powered seat adjustment for both the driver (six ways) and the front passenger (four ways). The sunroof is powered, as is the rear hatch door for easy access and greater security. Omoda has also added the 360-degree camera system to this specification level.

    Convenience features

Other convenience features in this grade includes climate control, cruise control, intelligent voice commands that control everything from the air temperature to the operation of the sunroof, the dual 10.25 inch information and entertainment clusters linked to a SONY sound system. The latter is connected to 8 speakers, up from the 6 speakers on the C5 Tech model.

    Pricing and warranty

The new models retail for R477,900 for the C5 Luxury and R479,900 for the C5 Luxury S model. All Omoda C5 models are the comprehensive service plan and mechanical warranty. The new models are sold with a comprehensive 5 year / 150 000 km warranty and 5 year / 70 000 km service plan. The C5 is backed by the Chery Group’s unmatched 1 million kilometre / 10-year engine warranty.
