The Munich based automaker has given its most potent 1 Series – the M135i xDrive – numerous modifications which the car manufacturer says reinforces the commitment of the BMW M135i xDrive to delivering hallmark BMW driving pleasure. It is important to note that this is not a facelift, also known as LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) at BMW. The 1 Series LCI with cosmetic changes and technology upgrades will most likely be unveiled in the next coming years.

For this update BMW have increased the camber values for the front wheels of the BMW M135i xDrive to optimise absorption of lateral forces when powering through corners. A new hydromount has additionally been used to attach the front suspension wishbones, while the mounts for the trailing and control arms at the rear axle have also been redesigned.

BMW has also recalibrated the spring and damping systems resulting in significant improvement in roll behaviour in corners, which is said to have a further beneficial effect on steering feel when the car’s sporting abilities are put to the test.

Underneath the bonnet the M135i xDrive is still powered by a turbocharged 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine making 225kW and 450Nm paired to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The automaker has also tweaked the controversial artificial engine sound which is “carefully amplified” through the audio system’s speakers.

BMW have also availed BMW Individual paint finishes for the M135i xDrive, namely Sao Paulo Yellow non-metallic, Frozen Orange metallic and Frozen Pure Grey finishes.
